I thought maybe someday I'd have to commit suicide, but I never thought I'd have to grow up, or get rid of this stuff.
Tomorrow I start cutting on the new cut. I think I’m going to start with the diner scene. There’s some material in there that I think I’ve always realized could be cut. And I’ve known it’s too long. And then there’s some stuff in there that the story would be better off without. Now to dive in and address all that.
Trying to decide whether to see through my plans to go back east in early November or go to AFM instead. Calix Lewis Reneau has agreed to ask his producer’s rep to look at the next cut of the film to decide if she wants to rep it at AFM. I just don’t know how much I’ll be able to do between now and the date she’d have to screen it by. Plus I’ll have to cut a new trailer and teaser and put together a promotional package. I’m just not sure there’s enough time for all that, with the other work I have to do.
I’m supposed to meet with Jennifer Beatty about the website this weekend to go over everything and to learn how to upload text and pictures and videos. The launch could be within the week. I hope so. It’s been a long haul.
